May your jumpers be warm and your wellies be dry.

Hey Reader,

1st September! 1st September! And it's a Monday! This Autumn coded eldest daughter is OVERJOYED that these two line up.

However in this household 1st September means one thing only - it's my dad's birthday. And so I thought that I would share with you two pieces of advice that he gacve me as a teenager that have seen me through life very well.

  1. Everything is an opportunity, nothing is a problem. Not sure what to do? Start by figuring out what those opportunities are. Got sacked? Great! Start a business! Get fit and healthy! Buy a company! (He did all these things). And if you know my dad in real life you will know he isn't one of life's optimists, very much a realist (with a sprinkling of pessimism), so this might seem odd, but I think he learnt from a young age that there is no use worrying about the things you can't control - the way you can take control is how you feel and act in any given situation which leads me onto....
  2. Be a radiator, not a drain. I use this one with clients all the time. Especially when they themselves have tricky clients. Or, if my client is having a shitty time and they want to vent - I often ask about the energy their giving out being projected back at them. A radiator brings people towards them, people are fighting to be stood next to them. A drain is someone people avoid because they suck the life out of them - think Colin Robinson from What We Do in the Shadows. Far better to be a radiator, always.

So dad happy birthday. Wouldn't be doing this if it wasn't for your belief that I could, and as Frenchie said in Grease: in life the only man a girl can depend on is her daddy.

I also am prompted to echo what Nadia Amer posted on Threads this morning [here is the post, read it all]. It is September and everyone who has been quiet all summer suddenly is reanimated into their most manic selves. It's like the Shouty Man from Horrible Histories but times 1000.

Here's what to remember: if you want to make an investment, sleep on it first. Then if you're still thinking about it in the morning, sleep on it again. You'll soon know if it was just a dopamine hit or not. You probably don't need that course you know. Probs better spending your dosh on some outsourcing help or done for you services. Get some new brand photos maybe? (This is just an inner monologue to myself now...".

If those coaches didn't love you enough to be showing up when you needed them in July they probably aren't worthy enough of your love right now.

Wow this email has really swerved hasnt it?!

All of that being said I have a new free training that will be live by the end of the week and it's called F*CK THE FUNNEL. Isn't that glorious?

And last thing am fully booked for project work will October but I would love to have some convos about how I can help you make money, save money or do cool shit faster. If you're sick of pushing yourself to do more when the money is quite literally sat in your audience ready for you to go and claim it, book an intro call here, I'd love to chat.

Have a great 1st September. May your jumpers be warm and your wellies be dry.
