The Snark: Traitors & Jeopardy

ZOË DEW

THE SNARK

Hey Reader,

*mild Traitors UK spoilers ahead*

If you didn't know the Traitors is a UK TV show based on a Dutch show (I think?) which essentially as I explained to my Dad last night is a sooped up game of Wink Murder which is a kids party game here in blighty. Got it? Then I shall continue.

The BBC with their Gavin & Stacey / Wallace and Gromit / Gladiators Celeb / Traitors S3 run have really been spoiling us this festive period. Me? I'm here for it all as well as being very happy that Casualty is back on a Saturday night.

The Traitors captures everything you want it to about being in England (I know it's an international show and all of them are different. Trust me I've watched the English speaking ones!). The acting for the good of the people and not being happy about it (that boat task was so brutal), the high camp of Linda and her purple hair, and the genius at Armarni telling others that they aren't pulling their weight. And lest we not forget the Harold Shipman comment.

All of this to say that The Traitors is about as high octane as I can take or stomach right now. I'm not here for the highs and lows of a Squid Game or a Black Doves, I want a priest pretending she isn't one or a girl pretending to have a welsh accent (badly) because she thinks it will get her further.

I'll go as far as an Iain chucking away his Arctic Roll on Bake Off but that's about it.

It's 5 years since the pandemic started to be whispered about and in those 5 years we have all been through so many unprecedented events i just want some precedence. I want to know that Claudia is going to bring back those three left at the train station because the BBC isn't going to recruit a man with a mullet for him not to be on for more than 10 minutes AND I want to be surprised when it happens.

We are all looking for certainty, for a sure thing. We want simple pleasures and a steady hand. We aren't looking for gambles or rollercoasters or what ifs.

How can you make your potential clients feel like your offer is a safe bet? Here's three questions I would ask myself (steal them, it's a great exercise):

1️⃣ How does my offer remove uncertainty or overwhelm for my clients?
2️⃣ What specific outcomes or results can I confidently promise, based on my experience or previous successes?
3️⃣ How do I show my clients that I'm the steady, reliable guide they need to achieve their goals?

With that, I hope you have a lovely Sunday. I am working on the class I'm giving on Tuesday; it's £99 and you can still join; the link is below.

Smooches,

Zx
