Cowork Camp is my selfish choice

Hey Reader,

Remember four years ago when we hadn’t heard of C***d-19, pandemics were things that happened in video games and no one knew that you could sing happy birthday when washing your hands?

2020 took it’s toll on everyone, and as a result I declared that in 2021 my word of the year would be selfish.

I started saying no to the things that I felt obliged to do, I declined voice notes and DMs, I explained I didn’t like hugs and also left gatherings when I wanted to without feeling guilty.

This worked for when I was employed. I was able to move through the working day and then prioritise my personal life when the day ended.

Boy how things change once you own your own business again.

I spend hours creating spreadsheets and CRM solutions for some of my clients, yet put off doing them for myself.

For instance I have to work on the membership back end, but I know that client work will always take priority - and that is after spending months fading away implementation from my roster!

And also I need to get ideating and I find that easier when surrounded by likeminded friends.

I am choosing to be selfish with Cowork Camp. It is the opportunity to finish everything I have started, to dream big and ask what if. To be surrounded by friends who will give me honest opinions and enjoy being questioned why.

It’s the space I have needed since 2017. Long before the panny d, being employed and understanding the possibilities of the online space [and the linked limitations of being a one woman band].
